I've had this for 3 months now and have used it at least once a week. It works as advertised and is easy to use and maintain. One reviewer said it was "horrendous" but provided no details. Maybe they got a bad copy? If so, they should contact Polaris about it. I talked with them (on the phone, a US based rep, without waiting long) about their guarantee, which is for 2 years, better than most, and they told me they usually send a technician out to look at it. He also said that since this is an important product for Polaris, their first robotic cleaner in the US, (which, by the way, has been sold in other parts of the world for several years before they brought it to the US market) they want to make sure they are aware of any issues and fix them right away. I have never owned a robotic or other form of automatic pool cleaner, so I have nothing to compare it to. Assembling this product consists mainly of the portable storage rack that comes with it. The only issue I have with the design...Read more 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Polaris 9300 Sport Premium Inground Robotic Swimming Pool Cleaner (Misc.) Purchased at the beginning of the summer season. Unit work considerably well all year. Ran it every other day to keep pool clean. Not once had to break out the manual vacuum until the end of Aug. when it stopped working. Returned it the the local pool dealer that I purchased it from. They had it for over a month waiting on parts. They had a half a dozen of these (9300's) waiting to be fixed. I ended up calling the manufacturer (Zodiac)and told them about the long wait and they contacted the dealer and they gave me a brand new one in the box. Put it in the pool and it cleaned up a months worth of leaves and acorns in a couple of hours. I'm worried it's going to break down again next season. Too expensive to have to replace it every year. I'm hoping the new one lasts longer. This thing should cost less than $500 for what comes in box. Really not much to it. Bag is easy to remove and clean, wish it had a cable roller built in. Hope others have better luck with it. This is our first...Read more 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Polaris 9300 Sport Premium Inground Robotic Swimming Pool Cleaner (Misc.) I agree with the two people that said this unit is horrendous! Put it together and ran the 2.5 hr. cycle. I have a 16x31 ft. kidney shape pool with steps in the shallow end. After 2.5 hrs. about 20 to 25% of the bottom of the pool had not even been touched. There was a fine layer of sand on the bottom so I could tell where the machine had tracked. When I talked with Tech Help at Polaris they said two things, the first was that it probably needed a different filter that would pick up sand better. I explained that it wasn't that it didn't pick up the dirt but there was areas of 20 to 25 sq. feet that the unit did not even track through. The second thing they told me was that you have to vacuum the pool and then the unit is designed to "maintain" the pool. I live in area with blowing dust, I guess I am supposed to vacuum the pool when dirty and then use their machine to give myself the false impression that the machine is doing all the work. If I have to start with a clean pool why do I...Read more |
